So it seems people are wondering what fans would think of the central cast of The Legend of Korra if “Rule 63” were applied. Here’s my hypothetical, based on their behavior, their characterization, and some apparent double standards held…

I WOULD STILL STAN GIRL!TAHNO.

I actually am kind of glad Tahno’s a man, not because it’s t3h hawt or whatever (sorry honey, I don’t swing that way often) but because the way he was depowered was so humiliating and violating it would have been even more painful for me to watch a female character go through that, and so much worse to see the fans say she deserved it. And because the idea of violating/humiliating a female character to “put her in her place” is such an old, ugly, and common one. And especially since Tahno was initially presented as very sexual (having a girl on each arm, wearing makeup, offering Korra “private lessons”) and there were some rape parallels going on with that debending thing…..

Yeah, do not want.

But if Tahno was a girl anyway, oh, I would love her so much and hold her to my bosom and whisper sweet nothings.

(I would ship rule 63 Tahorra less tho because I’m all about the femdom and I think Korra would top with any gender dynamic. I’d probably just femslash Tahno a lot because otherwise the power dynamics might squick me a bit.)

I know. The original Team Avatar didn’t need to declare themselves a team. They just all came together under a common purpose, but each with their own unique motivations for doing so.

Just for example, Katara followed Aang around the world primarily so she could become a waterbender. She had…

I said pretty much the same thing, here. Though I didn’t mean it as Mako hate. I actually don’t hate him, I think he could have been a really cool and interesting character, and the seeds of it are there, he just like, didn’t get to do much, and what he did do wasn’t clearly motivated, so it was hard to get him.
